Prison Boulder Trifecta

Friday morning video special.  I recently got a new laptop and video editing software.  Stay tuned for numerous new video releases in the coming weeks.  Currently I am working on a feature from Labor day weekend when the Southern Adirondacks were visited by the Cohn brothers from New Paltz and the one and only Tim Poulterer.  Lets just say that all of the guys from the southern portion of the state went on an absolute sending spree.

  1. Done these climbs before? Looks like you have them pretty wired, are the grades accurate? They didn't look to be that difficult. Nice video compilation though, keep them coming!

    1. Yeah, I have done these climbs numerous times since we "found" the boulder back in 2009. As for the grading, it is always subjective and in my opinion it really comes down to the individual climber. Some moves might feel easier for some people and harder for others. Regardless of the V grade, these boulder problems climb really, really well and are definately worth a visit. Put the number aside and enjoy all of the bouldering that the Southern 'Dacks has to offer.

  2. Grades are accurate. Problems are of high quality. If you have any doubt contact myself or Jut for directions and details to the boulder. You can verify the grades for yourself. Commander has the whole Southern dacks on lock. He makes everything look like cute cuddly kittens.

  3. I have to agree with the deet. I have only been to this boulder once and found the grades to spot on. The command center has these problems on lock. Irish Car Bomb still needs a repeat!

  5. Jut, I'd really like to hit the prison boulder sometime within the next week or two. It'd be cool to meet up for a night session or something, maybe get a quick tour and some sends! Are you getting out after work much lately?

    1. Andrew, I'd love to show you the boulder. Tuesdays and Thursdays work best with my schedule for after work climbing. I usually can get to Caroga Lake by 6:30 from my office in Saratoga. I'll keep an eye on the weather and stay in touch for some upcoming plans.
