Green Lake Boulders: Live Free or Die

A recent bouldering session at the Green Lake boulders got me psyched to put together this video of "Live Free or Die" that I filmed back in early April.  This boulder problem is one of my all time favorites and should not be missed if you are in the Caroga Lake region.  The Green Lake boulders are only a couple hundred yards from the Cane Mountain Trailhead on Green Lake Rd. and there are over 30 boulder problems (counting the varaitions) on two large glacial erratics.

Recently I got to spot a good friend, Andrew Cieply as he worked out the beta on the problem and came very close to the send.  Watching him dial in the moves and sequence, I am confident that on his next visit he will be topping out "Live Free or Die".

  1. This vid just appeared in my youtube feed so I knew there had to be a blog post! It was a blast climbing with you guys, as always. Thanks so much for sticking around and providing all the pads, beta, and spots so I could work this thing. Psyched I finally got to try that last move! Once the bugs and heat go away it's done! Good times buddy :)

  2. Great video! I'm really glad to see other people are enjoying the Green Lake boulders! My friend Shawn and I found these boulders about 10 years ago and spent entire weekends there (hence the fire pit on the back corner of the mainboulder). I love the videos but there are probably few if any problems tht you guys have gotten FA's on. Sorry. But it means a lot that you and friends are enjoying them as much as my friends and I did. What is your favorite problem there?
