On a possitive note, it is warming up around the southern adirondacks. This Saturday I plan on heading south to get some snow free bouldering in at New Paltz but on Sunday I was planning on heading back up to Nine Corners (I was there yesterday to check out the conditions...about 2-3 ft. of snow still lingering in the forest and boulder field) with a snow rake, a push broom, and a shovel. With nearly 60 degree weather in the forecast and an inch of rain next Tuesday and Wednesday...if I can get most of the standing snow off of the main bouldering set before the rain, we could have a magical early season bouldering session at Nine Corners next weekend with dry boulders, prime sending temps, no bugs, and snow all around us...anyone interested??? I've done this is prior years and trust me, the effort definately pays off. Banta, I'll definately clean off "Gatekeeper" for ya! Sully, "Long Live Legos", "Super Spores"??? Pooler, "Heart Attack Man", "Super Spores", "Popordropolis"?? Any other requests??
Here are some climbing hold sets I worked on for Element Climbing. The owner is really easy to work with and has been really excited to get a steady source of new shapes.

Origin, super spores, long live Legos, maybe even popordropolis are all on my list... I've also been doing 300 + pound dead lifts, so I'm hoping I'm strong enough to heel hook through meat and potatoes... Psycheddddd!
ReplyDeleteAnything V3 and below would by great! I'm looking forward to completing meat and potatoes and a bunch of other problems during my first season of bouldering outside.

Sully, don't burst a blood vessle with all those deadlifts ha ha. Justin, you are going to have a great season at Nine this year...i'm excited for you. I always have a good time in those woods.
ReplyDeleteClean off something easier but challenging for meeeeeeee! :)
ReplyDeleteDes, have you worked on "Meat and Potatoes" at all? That will definately be dry this weekend, along with "Stairs" and some other climbs right in the main set...by the way, how is Jeremy's finger today???
ReplyDeleteI worked on it a little when I first started climbing, nothing serious though...and it was awhile ago. Haven't attempted it since I've gotten a bit better, so that's definitely one I'd be up for getting on! Jeremy's finger is sore, but he has almost full range. He has an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, so I'm sure you guys will be hearing from him once he finds out what's going on. :)
ReplyDeleteThe shapes look awesome! If you don't mind me asking, what type of foam do you use and where do you get it?
