The Possibilities of Thatcher Park...

It is a place that I have not seen first-hand...but man the cliffs are tall and seem to be quite long. Can anyone speak directly of the rock quality here?? Thanks for the anonymous post about the climbing efforts for access in the park. I'll stay tuned to any progress.

  1. Quality not good I have been there a number of times with the same idea I tried spotting boulders as well where that waterfall is there are boulders down the hill but all smaller nothing stood out to me the cliff band is longer that the trail but they don't want you off the trail. It is a beautiful place for a picnic and hike.

  3. Talked with Icey and he also says what he remembers it was chossy. Last time he was there was over 10 years though and he didn't have a great eye then for potential. Time will tell... It's exciting for sure. Hoping you guys will have a 100 or more bolted routes for me to try when I get back haha.

  4. Been ther Jut, has some choss, but could have some quality too. Problem is I looked into it about a year ago and no climbing in the park says the rangers. However not all of the cliff is in the park, so some other parts might be fair game. it is a long cliff band, but access to theose parts of the clif is tough it runs through all sorts of private land. I do have a buddy who is friends with a guy who owns a farm that borders the cliff. he would prolly let us hike bake through his land to get to that part of the cliff. heard thier is somr boulders at the base of this cliff, no climber eyes, just guys who have been at the bottom a few times. I have also been with Sully to try to get to the private parts and it is tough to navigate how to get to the cliff. All that said you'er the COMANDER and if it will get done you'er the dude who can get it done. I'll help if you need it
